A melhor versão de Venus in Furs (Vênus das Peles) do Velvet Underground

O Velvet Underground foi uma banda de vanguarda da década de 60 que, compôs, entre muitas músicas com temas polêmicos, a famosa Venus in Furs (Vênus das Peles), baseada no romance de mesmo nome do escritor  Leopold Ritter von Sacher-Masoch, de cujo sobrenome derivou o termo masoquismo.

A música teve inúmeras diferentes interpretações desde seu lançamento pelo Velvet em 1967, mas, sem dúvida, uma das versões mais interessantes é a da banda Mad Juana (foto acima) que faz uma espécie de world music com punk e rock. Posto o vídeo com a música abaixo, onde aparecem dois dos membros do grupo: Sami Yaffa (na guitarra acústica) e Karmen Guy (vocalista). Os outros membros da banda são Danny Ray (saxofone), Frank London (trompete), Mal Stein (bateria),  Marni Rice (acordeão elétrico e vocais), Zach Brock (violino) e George DeVoe (baixo).

Pena que eles cantem apenas uma parte da letra (que também transcrevo abaixo), pois a versão deles é ótima: o ritmo é mais rápido que na interpretação do Velvet, mantendo, porém, a densidade da música e da letra. O clipe também é bem legal, sutilmente fetichista.
